Scripture Meditation
“Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
—Psalm 16:11

Do you remember your first high? I have been told that the experience can never be recreated. I am told that the reason so many people end up doing stronger drugs is not because they desire them but they are trying to recreate that first euphoric experience over again.
Though I have never had a natural high—to God be the glory, I have had many spiritual highs and lows. The last spiritual low I experienced sent me on a whirlwind of extreme emotions. The spirit of oppression tried to come in and settle in my space. However, I knew to get quiet and get before our Daddy-God so that I could recover and be restored. God is major and intends for each of us to be whole! The low was powerful but…
Unlike a natural high, a spiritual high is not a one-off experience. The Holy Spirit is available to every believer and produces within us a “bounce back”. No matter how low we go or how far we deviate from God’s plan His extension of mercy and grace draw us back in, to experience His exhilarating power over and over again.
The only way to experience a high that will always satisfy, that will never disappoint, and that will give you pure joy again and again, is to experience God! No other person, substance, or desire will fulfill like our Heavenly Father. Every vice will fail you. Every habit will dissatisfy. As my earthly father used to sing every now and then, “Tried everything and everything failed try Jesus!” God satisfies and supplies you with the fulfillment that will keep you moving towards the everlasting victory you’ve been given by Christ!
Don’t waste your time trying to recreate something that you will never experience again. Only God can do that. God bless and remember, “Everyday with Jesus is sweeter than the day before.”

Prayer of Faith
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for taking the mess we make and using it to make ministry birth forth out of us. Your math is complex but we are grateful that what You produce is exceeding, abundantly above what we can ask or think—according to Your working power within us. It is no mystery to those who experience You because You are willing and ready to reveal to us. Purify us Father so that we can experience You over and over and over again. You are the never-ending joyous experience that we need in this dark hour! We thank You in advance for doing what no one or no thing can do for us in Jesus name we pray… Amen!
